Answer
Are Hostinger's backups daily?
Not on every plan. Hostinger includes weekly backups across the range. Daily backups are a paid add-on on Premium and are only included from the Unlimited tier upward.
What weekly means in practice
A weekly backup means that at the worst moment in the cycle, you are restoring to a point six days old. For a site you post to occasionally that is survivable. For anything you update regularly — or a store taking orders — it is a week of work you would have to redo by hand.
Retention on the lower tiers is 7 days where daily backups are enabled.
Does that change which plan to buy?
It is the strongest argument for Unlimited over Premium, and the numbers are smaller than they look. Over four years Premium costs around $144 and Unlimited around $192 — roughly $48 over four years, about a dollar a month, for daily backups and unlimited sites instead of weekly backups and three.
If you were going to buy the daily-backup add-on on Premium anyway, the gap narrows further.
How the other two compare
- SiteGround — daily backups with 30 days of history, free on every plan including the cheapest. The clear leader.
- Bluehost — weekly, overwritten each run, disclaimed as a courtesy, with a fee to restore.
Whichever you pick, keep your own backups as well. Host backups are a convenience; a copy in storage you control is the actual safety net.
