Answer
How long is SiteGround's refund window?
30 days on shared hosting, and only 14 days on cloud plans. That difference catches people out, because the 30-day figure is the one that appears in the marketing.
Why the cloud distinction matters
SiteGround’s cloud plans start around $100/mo — a serious commitment where you would want longer, not shorter, to evaluate. Fourteen days is enough to check that a site runs, but not really enough to see how it behaves under a month’s traffic.
If you are moving up from shared to cloud, plan your testing around the shorter window.
The domain clause
SiteGround states that domain fees are not refundable and “may be due upon cancellation… even if waived initially as part of a special promotion”. In other words, the free domain can be charged back to you if you cancel. Paid Support and third-party services are also excluded.
Using the window properly
Thirty days is enough to test the things that actually determine whether you stay:
- Migrate a real site, not a test install — migration is where problems surface.
- Contact support with a genuine question and see what comes back. SiteGround’s support is its main selling point, so verify it.
- Check the datacenter choice. SiteGround fixes it at signup and it cannot be changed afterwards, so a wrong choice is a migration, not a setting.
Refunds must be requested through the Client Area rather than by email.
