Answer

Do SiteGround AI tokens reset every month?

Short answer

Yes, the free allowance resets monthly. SiteGround's documentation states that free-plan tokens “reset each month, on the date you have made your first paid SiteGround service order”, while “one-time AI Tokens top-ups do not reset”. What SiteGround does not publish is how many free tokens each hosting plan includes.

Affiliate disclosure. We earn a commission when you sign up through some of the links below. It never changes what you pay, and it does not decide the order of this list — we publish renewal prices precisely because they cost us conversions. How we make money.

What a token is

SiteGround defines a token as “the digital unit that measures the amount of data processed and provided by the AI models when an AI Tool is used”. Both halves of an exchange consume them — your request and the model’s reply — so a long answer costs more than a short one. Usage is “deducted from your monthly limit”.

When they reset

  • Free allowance: resets “each month, on the date you have made your first paid SiteGround service order” — so your reset day is tied to your original purchase date, not the first of the month.
  • Annual paid token plans: reset monthly through the term, on the day of the month you bought the plan.
  • One-time top-ups: “do not reset”.

A monthly reset is meaningfully better than the alternative. A one-time grant is a trial; a recurring allowance is a feature. SiteGround is on the right side of that line.

The figure SiteGround does not publish

All three plans advertise “Free AI tokens” with a NEW badge, but we could not find the per-plan token allocation on the pricing page or in the knowledge base. Without it you cannot tell before buying whether the monthly allowance covers an afternoon or a year, or whether GoGeek gives you more than StartUp. We have left this unconfirmed rather than estimating it.

How this compares

Among the hosts we track, SiteGround discloses the mechanism best and the quantity worst. Hostinger publishes neither for its hosting plans. Bluehost lists “AI Site Creation Tools” with no definition at all. Cloudways does not bundle AI with the plans we cover and prices its Copilot separately by credit, which is the most legible of the four even though it costs more.

What to do about it

Treat the AI tokens as a bonus rather than a reason to choose a tier. The difference between StartUp and GrowBig that will actually affect you is the renewal price — $17.99 against $29.99 a month — not an allowance neither of us can quantify.
